vash, it's not that you wear a baseball cap, it's how you wear it. If you wear the bill in the front, you might actually play baseball. If you wear it at a 45 degree angle, you are some kind of wanna-bee. If you wear it backwards, you could be anything, but probably NOT a baseball player.

Perhaps, the joke characters are "wanna-be" too
