What really ticks me off about that movie (and apart from city movie reviewers and media calling a couple of sheepherders "cowboys") is that I am an incurable romantic about the West and yeah, I loved "Westerns" when I was 8 and still do at 76. I don't like any trifling with the image that I have of the Old West. John Wayne wasn't that great an actor -but he personified what we like to think of as our heritage. I suspect that many Americans feel as I do and wouldn't go see the movie on a bet (apart from the distasteful nature of the movie anyway)

Part of me smiled at your joke and another part felt sad -hence my post to Sambar 9.3 (Dave). I want you you to know that I enjoy your jokes as a rule. I just didn't feel that way about this one. No insult intended.

I'm with gerrys375. I hate that they call some queer sheepherders "cowboys". The plot for the movie isn't realistic anyway because in reality, if real cowboys knew you were queer, you would get your ass kicked or maybe shot. I live in Texas and know quite a few real cowboys. NONE of them are even close to being queer and I don't expect to ever find one that is.

Thanks for the support! Smiler I do have to admit that while I am a New Yorker, born and bred, some of my mother's people (on her father's side) settled in Texas in the early 1860s NW of What is Waco today. My father was a "damyankee" (by your account) - and I grew up never losing a chance to tell my mother an anti-Texas joke. (It was always fun to tell a joke about Texas) Smiler MY mother handled herself rather well as I remember. Smiler

You said a mouthful brother, no pun intended.
Remember one thing, It's supposed to be Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.Or whatever the fags names were in the movie, I wouldn't know!
