Cazador humildeWe had Texas Liquor Stores in San Antonio in the 60's and 70's. They were a complete sporting goods store (of course not the hundreds of gadgets we have today), including firearms and ammo PLUS oodles and oodles of booze. Ahhh, the good 'ol days.

Bobby TomekThanks for taking those photos and posting them.

I've driven by there numerous times and had been tempted, but it seems I was always in a hurry or a touch on the lazy side...
By the way, have you ever been to Beyer Sporting Goods way out in the country outside of Weimar?
It's a great place and one of the last Mom & Pop operations around. And their prices are very good, too. They have a better component bullet selection than any place in Victoria (pop. 60,000+) and have a diverse line of optics, too.
Plus, they are great folks to visit with.

375hnhIt ain't just Texas, (although they may be in the lead) In Prairie Du Chien Wisconsin is a place called Starks. You can get everything from a pack of gum and a six pack, to a bass boat there, and if you ever pass through, do not miss visiting the place, it's better than Cabelas
Is that second one above in Longview? it looks familiar

Norman ConquestSchulenberg is a nice little town with obvious Germanic heritage. Fine gunshops + great food.Catch it in the spring.Bring your wife + do the hill country tour of the bluebonnets + local wineries.I guaranty that any rifle you see can be purchased with no flac.Besides next to Elgin, they make some damned fine sausage. No personal interest in this.I want folks to appreciate what we have + to help support the local merchants.I also recommend New Braunfels + Fredricksburg. Great German food.......Did I mention that there is also great hog hunting in these parts?
