Americanization:
Two families moved from Saudi Arabia to the USA. When they arrived the two fathers made a bet - in a year's time whichever family had become more American would win.
A year later they met again. The first man said,
"My son is playing baseball, I had McDonalds for breakfast and I'm on my way to pick up a case of Bud.
How about you?"
The second man replied,
"Fuck you, towel head."

gerry375Erik:
The "second man" is the view of real Americans. We are going to end this uprising of the Muslims just as as a united Europe once put the Muslims down in the 17th Century at Vienna. Too bad that the Europeans are too scared to do it now. You people prefer to allow a Muslim horde to invade you and demand that a Western culture should kneel down and bow to a religion founded by a beggar who married a rich old woman to advance himself and who "married" a female child. Americans intend to defeat this enemy as they beat the Germans and the Japs - better men than this rabble who don't dare fight in armed battle and who want to set off bombs.
Your "joke" is disgusting. Apparently Norwegians are now part of the same cowardly group as the rest of Europe. You hope that the Muslims will come for you last. Don't worry. We will stop the "towel heads", not for your sake - but our own.

ErikDGerald,
Firstly, the joke was forwarded to me by an American.
Secondly, you are gravely mistaken if you think that all Europeans, or Norwegians for that sake, are too scared to do anything about the situation. But I suppose your leftist American media, just like our leftist European media, doesn't always portray the truth about what citizens actually think/feel. Instead, they print what they want. Your media has thus clearly ignored the fact that MANY people over here, in fact most likely the majority, think that our governments should have told the muslim fanatics to go fuck themselves. And as far as I know, no newspaper in the US has had the guts by the way to print the recent "Muhammed Cartoons", which I find interesting in itself. Had it been up to me, the current situation would have been quickly resolved by means that are in no way related to the "dialog" going on now.
Thirdly, it was a joke, so take a chill pill and lighten up. BS reactions over a joke like you posted to me belongs on the Political Forum or on a PM, and not here.

I most humbly apologize for my remarks. Please blame them on the fault of an Irishman who took too many sips of Bourbon and just wasn't reading the intent of the joke. (Iam particularly ashamed that I could ever have suggested that Norwegians were cowards. My generation knows that Norwegians resisted the Germans {and how!) and that the north flank of NATO is covered by Norway and we Americans always have rested easy with that) I am deeply grateful that you, a Norwegian, delivered such a balanced and measured reply to my intemperate remarks.
To others who have posted - Your criticisms are correct and I apologize for being so "political" in a "Humor" forum. I always thought that I could laugh at a joke - in this case I guess the liquor got hold of me.

gerry375Dave:
You know something? After I sobered up enough, I realized that the joke was funny. It's simply that I read it the wrong way - while sipping too much Bourbon - and what really bothers me about my post - I forgot that Erik D was Norwegian - perhaps the only people in Europe that I admire (I judge all Europe on how they dealt with the Germans) and I should not have insulted him to his face like that.
It has been said of the Irish that they never can pass up a chance to get off a cutting remark - no matter what damage it does. I just gave one more example of that!

Sambar 9.3Gerry, there are only three things an Irishman cannot pass up; A drink, a fight, and chance to sing out of tune! (at least according to my father!)
Remember, that's why God gave us alcohol, so the Irish wouldn't rule the world!
Cheers, Dave.
