carpetman1Press 1 for English
When I get telemarketer calls from a person with a hard to understand foreign accent, I tell them my phone is broken, I pressed 1 for English. I also tell tella marketers that you have reached the center for extended warranty on automobiles, do you have extended warranty?

Use Enough GunSpeaking of foreign accents, I was on the phone with Linksys technical support a couple of days ago, and the woman that was helping me had a heavy Southern Far East accent. While she was helping me(she was very professional, patient and definitely knew her stuff because she quickly fixed my issue), there were literallhy chickens and rosters crowing and cackling in the background, and what sounded like pigs. Seriously, no joke! I could just envision her home as a dirt floor shanty somewhere in Vietnam, India, Thailand or the Philippines!

Grizzly Adams1If I'm in a tolerant mood, I do the East Indian accent bit in return, makes them angry real quick.

Jerry FiskI just answer those as "Police dept, Homicide division, we are in the middle of an investigation, how many times have you spoke with the victim?" Those that's still on there normally hangs up by then.

TomPThese days, I just set the phone aside and wait for the telemarketer to hang up.
The phone companies could end this crap quick, by charging one cent per call, no skin off my nose...

NormanConquestSure they could; why not? They make fees off everything else. My son's friend has a company + I REALLY need to find out more about this. Somehow his CPA has set him up with tax deduction that involves, after the telemarketers have been advised on the national do not call list, that for every telemarketer call received he can write it off on his taxes. Will post when I know more.
