An elderly woman was in the middle of a routine health exam when the doctor pulled the stethoscope from his ears, looked her in the eyes and asked, "Ms. Johnson, do you feel ok, are you having problems?". Ms. Johnson replied, " I feel fine Doc. never better. Only thing is, I pass gas constantly, day and night, but you can't hear it and it doesn't smell so it's really not a problem." The Doctor excused himself and left the examination room for a few minutes. He returned with a bottle of pills and instructed Ms. Johnson to take a pill a day and come back in 2 weeks. Ms. Johnson returned 2 weeks later and declared, " Doc, I don't know what them pills were but I'm still passing gas constantly, only now it smells and it smells god awful." The Doctor replied, "Well that takes care of your sense of smell, now let's work on your hearing."
