crowrifleReminds me of the body the pulled from Haw river here a few years back. It was a young black man that had been completely wrapped in logging chains and then thrown in the river.
Our local sheriff took one look and then pronounced it a suicide. Said the young man tried to steal more chains than he could swim with.

GatogordoThis is funny, but not a joke. The "reaching" defense has been used many times, successfully in Texas, against a murder charge. The defense? Even though the corpse was found to be unarmed, the defendant thought he was "reaching" for a weapon and shot first. True stories.
