Having dug to a depth of 10 feet year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.
Not to be out-done by this discovery, California archaeologists dug to a depth of 20 feet and declared that they found traces of 200 year old copper wire and concluded that their ancestors had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers.
A week later, local newspapers in East Texas reported that Bubba Wayne, a self-taught archaeologist, after digging 30 feet in his cow pasture, found absolutely nothing, concluding that 300 years ago Texas was already wireless.
