The largest Musky on record for a long time was neted and went 104LBS. The meanest most threatening looking fresh water fish, however, in the USA has to be the Aligator gar.
Nice picture, Dan. Spent a day back in "56" in a Natchez back water culvert catching big gar and grinner( bowfin, or dog fish up north)The gar has to be the hardest fresh water fish to set a hook into.
Going to Sitka Fri. The salmon are thick right now but I'll be targeting rock fish, big ling( 50lber) last year and the large pacific halibut.Last year the biggest was 125lbs. and the smallest was 105lbs. We used an 8mm06 to land them.
