Ted GorslineI once read that the very first wildlife film ever made was a black and white film by an Englishman named ponting and in it he shows killer whales in the arctic trying to knock eskimos off ice flows. I have never seen the film.
I am suprised that they have not yet learned to take people off beaches to eat as they are quite good at taking much larger sea lions off beaches.
It may be that in the arctic they have more trouble finding food and thus are more likely to eat people. I think, that as with black bears, its only a matter of time.

Sunday on the PBS channel they had a fascinating program about killer whales actually helping people catch bigger whales in Australia!!!The local people hunted in small boats and the killer whale would herd the large whale into shallow waters where the whalers could get them .Their reward was to eat the tongue of the large whale ,their special treat. There were other stories of killer whales helping whalers who were knocked out of their boat by keeping sharks away !
