BuffHunter63First Outing of the Season
Just got back from our first fishing trip of the season.
We were fishing in western Nebraska and the evening and nights were exciting with the threat of tornados, but the days were nice and sunny although a little cool (low-to-mid 60s).
We spent about 4 hours out on the lake each day and caught a total of 21 channnel cats (two were about 5 lbs each), 5 white bass (10-12 inches long), 1 smallmouth bass (11" not a keeper), and my wife caught a carp that weighed just at 10 lbs (per my digital fish scale), which we returned to the water of course.
Other than the thunderstorms and hail at night, the trip was a lot of fun. The lake was fairly crowded with 72 boats using the dock where we were at (according to the parks guy) on the first day.
Although the lake is about 4500 acres, many of the boats were concentrated at "hot spots".
Still a nice way to start the fishing season.

dang 72 boats.
most of the lakes I fish wouldn't hold 72 boats.
well they might hold that many but you wouldn't be able to get a line in the water.
