jmnucciAfrican Sky Hunters
When I was in England quite a few years back now I met someone who was starting a Safari Company where you would go out hawking various game with some impressive sounding birds, most notably a Marshall Eagle. Anyone know if they are in business and if they have a website?

OldsargeNo, but I'll be following this thread closely just in case someone else does. What a concept!

SaeedYears ago I saw a documentary of Russian hunters using eagles to hunt wolves!
I mentioned this to one of the boys on our ham network, and he said he would be happy to arrange for me to go on one of these hunts.
I never had the time, so I did not take him up on it.
It seems each time I get a break, I head to Africa instead!

OldsargeI, personally, would shy away from hunting wolves. I guess they're too much like dogs. For that matter, I don't hunt coyotes or foxes and wouldn't want to shoot a jackel, either. However, if someone were to offer a safari hunting dik-dik or related antelopes with eagles, I'd start saving immediately. That would be my kind of falconry. For that matter, hunting springhas or dassies is appealing as well. However, several hours of dredging the internet on this subject has not produced a single valid reference. Damn!

OldsargeCould you PM me the titles? I have a modest but building falconry library that I am always glad to add to. And this subject, especially, appeals to me. Does he, by any chance, take out guests?
