AA DATA 2230C in a mach IV?
Have a bunch on hand and wonder if this powder will work, it looks to have a burn rate close to the powders I have heard mentioned for the M4. Can anyone give me a starting load?

What about Blue Dot and AA2200?

I know what you mean about 2230C.

I was thinking of getting some myself, I do like the math.

To this end, I contacted AA, and they emailed me that 2230C can use 2230 data. Of couse start low and work up as a standard precaution.

So from the AA manual#1

24inch Douglas barrel, Rem case, Rem 7 1/2 primer, 1.770" OAL and a 25 grain Hornady HP

Standard 2230 powder

18.3=3398 fps-minimum
20.3=3861 fps-max

hope this helps.

Try looking at data in the opening page for gunpowder at Accurate Arms web site. They have a link specifically for 2230C and 2200 loading data.
A call or email to the AA ballistician may prove fruitful for those NOT interested in any experimentation!

If one has too, they might be able to apply some logic and extrapolate/interpolate loads for cartridges other than those listed.
NOT a plan for any beginning or non-safety concious reloader.

Thanks Joe!

Edit: I just got off the phone with a tech @ AA and he gave me a "conservative" load for a 25gr bullet with AA2200. Start=14gr Max=16.5gr
