Geedubya17 ackley is a neat little round.
Course I'm kinda partial to the small calibers.

drewhenrytntGW,
Are you sure there is a 218Bee in that lineup? I have 22hornet, 221, 222, and 223. I also have a 218B case and it don't look like any of those.??????

drewhenrytntVAPO...The nickel plated case your arrow is pointing to is a 22 HORNET! The case immediately to the right is a 221 Fireball!
There are 15 calibers listed and 14 cartridges.

You're certainly right about the counts.....and as to the Bee or Hornet, I'll capitulate as the head stamp isn't available.
The Bee and Hornet cases are quite different and one would think they are not going to be confused.....maybe it's the angle of the photo that deceives the length of the cartridge.

Davis GoertzenHere's what I did: Do a Google search for 218 bee, click Images, and click on the picture which is second from the left, third from the top. The caption says that the cartridges are (left to right) the Fireball, 218 Bee, and 22 Hornet.
I know it's not solid proof, but compared to that picture, Geedubya's nickel-plated case sure looks like a 22 hornet.
I'd link it, but I don't have a Photobucket account or anything like that.

MickinColoEverything looks in order to me except for the 218. The 218 Bee didn’t make it to the photo shoot. The only 218 case in the picture is the oil dented case, second from the left. It appears it hadn’t been fire formed at the time of the photo shoot.

DenisBAnd none of us ever make typo's.......He He
excluding the cartridge to the right of the nickled hornet , the other 13 cartridges look correct in that order to me.
I'm having trouble with the perspective of the "mystery" case, next to the hornet.
its either a Bee or a fireball.
One minute I think it has a rim , next minute I think its rimless.
I'm leaning towards 218bee & the fireball is the missing one...........but the shoulder is all wrong.
Excellent 'mystery' quiz Geedubya.
Don't leave us in suspense for too long.

MickinColoLooking at the lineup yesterday the only bee type rim I saw was the 17 Hebee but after blowing up the “mystery case” for a closer look, I’m not so sure about it now.

DocEdThat cartridge, to the right of the Hornet case, looks like a rimmed case to me. That's why I didn't see a FB.

It probably is.....as I'm not sure the 218 Bee was ever produced in a nickel case!....the Hornet was!

GeedubyaI think what my have caused the problem in the original photo was that I did not include the 221 fireball cartridge in the photo, but did in the caption.
Let me try this again in the cold light of day, when not wrapped in the arms of Bacchus.

drewhenrytntGeedubya,
I think you musta taken a swig from that bottle the coons had

The fireball was in the original photo. The 218Bee was absent.
Now all you need is a 22Velodog, a 22RemJet, and a 219Zipper!
Lets not forget the all powerful 22WMR!

I couldn't make my mind up about the original image whether the "mystery" cartridge had a rim or was rimless, but leaned towards a 218Bee case with rim, the zoomed image posted above by MiC convinced me completely that it indeed had a rim . The shoulder had me confused in the original image as the perspective sort of made it look like an improved 218Bee ( ackerwhatzee).
The rejigged lineup in the second image shows
a good image of a standard 218Bee shoulder.
Bacchus may have blurred the perception of the cartridge selected as a std 218Bee in the first image.
No worries GW, we are all envious of your "quiver"...............I'm envious of both the 'quiver' and the photography skills.
