Good choices, just add a 12 guage and a .22 rimfire and that's a complete battery.

killsoftPolls are fun. Since you didn't mention varmints, my (fictional) choices would be:
7x57 Mauser
CZ550 restamped ".275 Rigby", iron sights, QD Talley Rings, 6x Leupold.
9.3x62 Mauser
Model 70 Supergrade, express sights, barrel band swivel, QD Talley Rings, 1.75-6 Leupold.
7.62mm NATO
FN/FAL Paratrooper, DSA scope mount, Trijicon ACOG, Harris bipod, Teflon Urban Camo, Gen. III NVG. For wild boar.
Hmm, I guess I like the Metric system after all...

bajabillfor big game,
375 rum
35 wheelen
300 win mag

Dark Helmeteasy...
257wby, Weatherby Vanguard (Howa).. or on a custom mauser.
30-06, mauser-type or win 70.
375 H&H, pick your platform, I like the M70 again, a little tune up and you're good to go.

JBabcockMy three,
Crossman BB gun, the gun I shoot the most by far (lot's of rats in this world)
JC Higgins FN, 270 3X9 Leupold
M 70 SS Classic, 338 Win Mag, 3x9 Leupold
Could substitute a 22, or a .223 for the BB gun. But can't imagine not having one.

BFaucettSince this is for a 3-gun battery for North America, for some nostalgia with a touch of class how about:
.257 Roberts
.30-06 Springfield
.35 Whelen
-Bob F.

recoilpadIf I had to pull (3) rifles out of my safe to cover all North American hunting, it would be the following:
.257 Wby in a Mark V
.300 Ultra Mag in a Rem 700
.416 Rigby in a CZ550

mokiMine would be 280 Remington 700 Mountain rifle 4-12x Leupold Vari-x 11, 300 Remington Ultra mag 700BDL S/S Leupold 4.5-14x Vari-x 111, and 45-70 in a 22" barreled T/C Contender carbine Leupold Vari-x 11 1-4x.
26 November 2003, 17:41
<Hoghead>Mine would be: 220 Swift
270 WBY MAG
7.82 Lazzeroni Warbird
27 November 2003, 10:34
JODARLet's see ---
22-250 - fine for small AK deer
270 Weatherby Mag - most anything, especially sheep and goats
338 for everything, 375 as an alternate

Ray-MarineHere is what I would have.
223 for the small stuff. Rem 700vls (I curently own and love)
50 cal black powder
and for the big stuff
M82A1 50BMG for the big stuff
Have shot all three and the 50BMG kicks the least.

The MazSmall critters - Win 88 in .243 w/6 - 18X scope.
Medium game - Same in .308 w/3 X 9 scope.
Big Stuff - Ruger #1 in .458 Win Mag, 4X scope.
Yeah, I know the 88 us out of production, but IMO it's the best lever gun ever, is accurate, handy, and good looking to boot. They still can be had if you look around some.
If limited to only one, then I'll take the .458, as it will drop smaller game without too much meat damage and is only at a disadvantage if ranges exceed 200 or so yards. Since I rarely shoot that far, it's no problem at all.

rembo"blacktails to brown bears" doesn't take three rifles...I don't think it does anyway. You could do it with one,a 338 Win Mag.But if I had to have three, they would be my 7-08AI,my 300 Win Mag and my 375 Weatherby Magnum.,,that's three,seventy,FIVE,..not,three,seventy,eight.

dannytoroFor me:
Small and light: .250 Savage Ackley
All rounder: 300 Rem SAUM
Thumper: .338 Win Mag (Although loss of the big sexy Speer 275 grain has that choice waning a bit.)
