stock for .264 winnie
My vz24 action barrelled to .264 win mag is forthcoming from the gunsmith. I am now on the hunt for a propper stock for this new venture. I have a levle ton of bass pro points and they sell B&C stocks, I have been leaning to a Hogue overmolded or a boyds laminate, however the idea of getting one for points and no out of pocket is appealing. Can I get opinions on these stocks please?

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

I just mounted a Hogue on a 270. The fit and feel were great. The couple of Boyds I had in hand had rather large inletting gaps

As usual just my $.02

I have a FN Mauser 264Win that I put a Hogue overmolded stock on and have no problems with, but I have handled the Bell & Carlson Carbelite stocks and like them also. I am a fan of synthetics as they are impervious to moisture as well as solvents.

I sugjest you look at accuracy inovations.
The houg is rather heavy. The Bell and carlson medelist with a good web type finish would be my preference over the houg.
Plain black stocks just don'e excite me...tj3006

I have the Hogue overmolder with the full length bedding block on a 338 win mag. I love it. It shoots better than I can and on this rifle a little extra weight was welcome. The recoil pad is also very high quality. It seems people either like em or not. I like em. DW
