<rogerq>Tactical twenty barrel length
I am going to turn one of my XP-100s into a switch barrel and want to have the first to be a tactical twenty. What length of barrel should I use to obtain 4000fps with a 35grain bullet. Do I need to go with a 26" tube or will a 20" be adequate. TIA

Mike JI was sure hoping to see some responses to your barrel length question. I have a Tactical Twenty with a 26" tube, but the next one will be much shorter.
At any rate, you will love the twenty caliber.

UltramanGreg Tannel (Gre-Tan Rifles) article features a 26.5" bbl pushing 4350 fps. I cannot recommend him enough. I had him build a rifle for me ( not a tact 20) that is the best workmanship I have ever seen. The guy is a joy to deal with because he loves what he does. Tod K's is 25" (of Small Caliber News) at same velocity. They are using different twists but Gregs is shooting .2's!!! What is optimum? I don't know but when I build mine Greg will be the 'smith. Lucky ShotHere is s site that is geared towards the smaller cal. stuff.
www.woodchuckden.comThey seem to know allot about the 17 and 20's.
I would sure think that 4k is doable from a 20"xp
