Grantl7mm remington mag
I recently purchased a BAR 7mm mag. I would like to shoot 140 gr bullets, am wondering if anyone can recommend a good load.
Thanks Grant
Grant,
Depends on what you're going to be hunting. I've had really good luck with Nosler ballistic tips, and RL-22. Accuracy has been superb, and they have been dynamite on whitetails. If you're looking for a bullet that retains more weight, standard softpoints will work well or a more solid design like the partition or a bonded core bullet should do the trick. If we knew what you're intending to use the gun for, I'm sure we could give you a good place to start.

GrumulkinMy loads for my 7mm Rem. Mag. utilize RL-22 and either 160 or 140 grain bullets (Barnes and Hornady). I use large rifle and not large rifle magnum primers for these loads.

wildboarYou shoud prefer medium burning rate powders (for caliber) as for any semi-auto rifle; I'm a BAR fan, so I'm pretty sure that you will be satisfied. As stated before, RL22 seems to be a good choice.
