In my 22-250 sako 75 i had a sweet load with the 50gr v-max, 36.5 gr varget and about 3650 fps(i dont like to push em too hard!).......so i decided to change to a moly version of the bullet which is good but i now get a big muzzle flash so should i just reduce the powder charge and get back to the same velocity as before or go for a faster burning powder as I realise that the moly bullet is sliding down the barrel that bit easier and I can pick up some more speed(although that is not my number one priority) Any thought and suggestions will be much appreciated.

With the seemingly reduced barrel friction my first reaction would be a slower burning extruded powder. I probably would start with 3031, than 4895, and lastly 4064. There is an outside chance that 4350 with a magnum primer would work.

My cousin is getting super small groups with his 22-250 using WCC846 which yields about a 5 foot muzzle flash. Doesn't seem to bother him a bit. roger

it wouldnt bother me but you cant see at night after the shot and it burns the finish of my sound moderator
