HP ShooterFound a good 6.5X55 load
Found a load that my 550 FS likes: 45.8 grains of H4350 and Remington 9 1/2 primers in Lapua cases, topped with a Hornady 129 gr. Spire Point.
This load yielded a 5 shot group 1 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" wide at 200 yards from a sling supported prone position (no bags).
Don't know velocity yet, but suspect it's moving at about 2800 fps.

JaywalkerHP,
How far off the lands are you?
Jaywalker
Jaywalker - I have the same rifle in the same caliber. I checked the OAL to the lands using a 140SptBt(SR) bullet in a "spent" case and touched at 3.07. Mine doesn't seem to like the slower powders, but is a "tackdriver" with Varget, IMR3031, and 4064 (either AA or IMR). Regards - Mags
