my 2 CZs at the range
took my pair of CZ550s to the range on sunday. My American , is a .243 and my full stock is a 7X57.
I shot the .243 ist and my 1st target was poor, But I figured I needed a smaller bulls eye to shoot better and that cured the problem. I used 4 loads, and best was a 100 grain sierra flat base with IMR 4064 at .65 followed by the 90 grain speer over varget at .72, Next was a 95 grain balistic tip on top of IMR-4350, at 1.15. The rifle does not like the 100 grain hornady over RL-22 at all.
belive it or not my Full stock 7x57 is at least as acurate a I had a group of .55 with a 162 grain Hornady and About .75 with a 140 grain b-tip over H-414.
CZs are prety hard to beat !!! ...tj3006

Roger,

when I had the opportunity to shoot your CZ at the range when down in LA, I thought it was a good shooter....

But as we talked about over lunch... a plain old Stevens 200 in the same caliber would be just as accurate and a more common every day rifle....

Your CZ was everything I expected it to be, but the logical choice of a Savage or Stevens makes more sense to me...

Guess you and I are users instead of admirers...

I am not sure how to take your comment about "admirers" as to those of us who like and shoot CZ'S, but here is what I have to say about that, LOL!

In my groupof friends we have 6, CZ rifels, 2, 223's, 2, 221 Fireballs, 1, 243, and a 375 H&H, they are all tack drivers. My 527'S best group so far is .380,that shot with a 7, power scope, and the 375'S best group is .75. All of the rifles mentioned above shoot about the same as the others. So if Roger has a problem, must be "HIS RIFLE", send it back to CZ.

I love my CZ527!! I chose the 221FB and I've never regretted it. With the Hornady V-Max 40gr, I keep groups inside 0.5" without much work. I could probably fiddle with it to get better... but why!?! Also, after seeing the loading data on this site for subsonic and reduced loads for the 221, I started to experiment there also. I'm now shooting the same 40gr V-Max into 3/8" at 50yds when loaded with 3.5gr of Unique. It duplicates a strong 22LR load, and it should be just the ticket for squirrel season... Opens next week!!!!! beer

Jerry, It's like I said ."I must have the only lemon in the group." Even though ,John says it fires good I think he is just trying to be a nice guy who feels sorry for a guy who is saddled with a dud. At best, as I have stated before ,it is a nice walk around plinking rifle at best. beerroger
