280wahooSendero 25/06
I had been trying to buy this rifle for 7 years now and it is now finally in my gun cabinet. Now that I have this rifle I'm trying to figure out about when it was made. I know Remington stopped making them in 04. The barrel is stamped Sendero special, the only information I can find on them is for the SF model and this rifle has a matte finished barrel and no flutes.

Dans40XCBarrel manufacture code letters stamped on LH side of barrel approximately 1-1/2" fwd of front receiver ring.
First letter is month.
Second letter is year.

RojelioRemington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle [or shotgun] on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture. For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around.
According to the "Blue Book of Gun Values", the coding continues as follows:
Month Codes: [first letter]
B - L - A - C - K - P - O - W - D - E - R - X

* the years 1943 though 1953 had double letters: ie, MM = 1943
As maybe seen, the year code letters duplicate; some knowledge of when the model was introduced should resolve the actual year of manufacture.

BrandoRemington still makes the Sendero models...
I have a Sendero model that is not stamped Sendero. But I have the booklet and matching tags that claims its a Sendero. Has the 26" Heavy barrel and the correct stock and everything.

Actually remington re-introduced the "Sendero" model again in 2007 but the re-introduced ones all have fluted barrels.

carpetman1The year codes Rojelio posted can repeat for example an A could be several different years. So you have to know years that model was manufactured--for example a Sendero would not be 1932 but an A can represent 1932.
