cz 527 223-How fast of twist ?
And how heavy of bullets can I shoot in this twist?
looks as though MN may be going to the .22 centerfire minimum for deer instead of .23.I would like to try my 527,if I can get a suitable bullet loaded. And,could use bullet suggestions for a suitable bullet.

The Varmint
KEVLAR is 1-9, all the others are 1-12. The 527 American used to be listed as 1-9, but it was either a misprint, or they changed it.
My 527 Varmint .223 (1-12) shoots up to 55g bullets VERY well. Beyond that you have a crap shoot.
Depends on bullet construction. The TSX is an excellent recommendation for deer sized game.
These bullets are accurate.
Enjoy! I very much enjoy mine!

Not mine. My Maple wood varmint model, non Kevlar, is a 1-12 as are
all of the non-Kevlar Varmint models for some reason. Maybe CZ figured you are going to use lighter bullets for "varmints?"
And yes it has a heavy barrel.
The 527 Mannlicher is available in 1-14 and 1-12.
The 527 American
used to be listed as a 1-9, but now it is listed as 1-12 same as the Varmint models.
Now that makes no sense, but hey that's CZ.
CZ527 ModelsI have a 527 American, the one with the excellent wood on it. It has a 1-12 twist and I decided to shoot the light weight bullets in it for the added velocity. It shoot three 45 grain Clint Starke bullets into a 3/8" group at 100 yards. Not too shabby.
I love that rifle.

hardin284The older 527 Varmint walnut guns were def 1:9. I see that only the curly is offered now and is 1:12.
