brytstar257/6.5
I recently acquired an Arisaka 6.5 that was converted to 257/6.5 and sporterized. It has a decent set of open sights but I would like to scope it. It looks like a problem due to the safety. Installing an EER scope in scout fashion may be the answer. Any ideas ot there?

vapodogTry posting this in the gunsmithing forum. You'll be more likely to get a reply there.
Personally it seems to me like sending good money after bad.....If you really want a scoped rifle trade the arisaka off on one.....you'll be better off in the long run.

LeftoverdjThe Arisaka safety does not interfere with a scope, it's just awkward to operate. I added an aftermarket trigger with a side safety, forgot all about the military safely, and lived happily ever after.
Make sure the rifle is shooting as well as you can expect with the iron sights before you go putting any money into it, but the 6.5 Roberts is a decent cartridge and I have been very happy with mine.

brytstarI habe a number of scoped rifles but not a 6.5.
However, you are probably correct.
