lawndart
I have a Sako 6mm PC target model waiting in line to be re-barreled to 6.5 Grendel. Actually 6.5 lawndart. It is a somewhat tighter, but no turn version of the Grendel.

Minimal recoil, mild report. Awesome deer cartridge with a 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip or 125 grain Nosler Partition. Great target round out to 600 yards.

Ask Dave Kiff or Myra at Pacific Tool and Gauge to e-mail you the reamer drawing for the 6.5 lawndart. The 6.5 Grendel reamer drawing is obviously meant for use through an AR-15. It is too loose for a bolt actioned rifle.

I have one. It was a CZ527 in 7.62x39 that was rebarreled with a 19" Lothar Walther tube by Brockman's Rifles.

They also slicked up and bedded the action, free floated the barrel, and set the trigger to 2.5 pounds. I have yet to try any reloads out of it, but the Alexander Arms factory 120 grain Ballistic Tips grouped nicely. That rifle is a dream to shoot and easy to hike around with...

johnnyreb, I've been thinking of that for a while now. Any pics?
Perfect coyote gun. I'm thinking 22" barrel though.

.366 I think if you talk to Bill Alexander you will find that the cartridge is totally effecient at 18" barrel length. Yes a little more can be edged out of a longer barrel, but the balance and accuracy are all there at 18".

366,

I have a digital camera, but have no idea how to post pictures here. It looks like any CZ527 with a clean barrel. Mine sports a Burris 2x to 7x compact scope in CZ rings. I deer hunted with mine last year but did not bag anything.

I also have a CZ550 American in 9.3x62...Wink

366, as far as thee noise goes, I don't think it is too loud, but I have only fired my Grendel while wearing hearing protection, which consisted of the electronic muffs that allow one to hear conversations but muffles gunshots...

Likely similar to my 21" 7mm BR rifle, not bad, less 'crack' and more of a 'boom' vs smaller bore or larger case. Very mild in all regards, recoil, blast, etc.

I am building a 243 WSSM AR useing a Olympic Arms upper, on a Stag arms Lower I put togeather myself. I had thought about the Grendel but passed on it due to ammo/component availability. My next project is a 458 Socom I also thought anout the 50 Beo but passed for the same reasons as the Grendel. The Socom uses a 45-70 Bullet 300-500 grains and larger. These are designed as rifle bullets while the 50 beo is only avalible in a hand gun bullet.

DPMS makes the 260 Rem chambered AR. 2 models, one is VERY heavy, but they should shoot from what I hear. Easy to find brass/ammo
