OK, here it is, i know it looks desperate, but i am. i need this info asap. it could put the life of a new gun at stake.

How is it that the contender can shoot .22LR and the encore cant? does it have an adapter, a special firing pin or is the bore off center so the pin hits on the rim?

is there anything i could do to shoot .22LR in the encore other than those adapters that i hate fumbling with. don't give me no for an answere because i'll find a way if i don't get ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Straight from the TC web site. The hammer is different on the Contender. Hammer: Grooved with wide target spur. Hammer is equipped with an External Manual Firing Pin Selector which adjusts to activate dual firing pin arrangement allowing use with either rim or center fire ammunition. External Manual Firing Pin Selector also provides a safety position

No problem, both Bullberry and Virgin Valley sell replacement breech faces with their rimfire barrels. One screw is all it takes to change it out and you can shoot rimfire in the Encore. Not as easy as the Contender, but not a big deal. And a heavy barrelled Encore in 22LR is a joy to use.
