I have a sako 85 and have handled and shot a steyr. In my opinion, I think that the Sako is the better rifle. I just dont like the bolt on the steyr.

On the other hand, I've NEVER had a Steyr that couldn't be made to be near benchrest accurate with the right load. I love 'em.

I personally do not care for that hogs back style of butt stock that come on the bavarian sako. I have 2 modern Steyr rifles, a Prohunter in 6.5x55 and a Mannlicher classic in 222. Both shoot a variety of loads extremely well, both cost a lot less than a new Sako here in Canada. Now I love 25 cal rifles and if I was going to get another one I'd have to buy a Tikka stainless over laminate. They run around $1000 here in Canada likely quite a bit less in the USA. I had one of these a few years back and should have never sold it, like most Tikka's a great shooting rifle. FS

I have a couple Sako 85s and a couple Steyr SBS rifles.

Can't go wrong with either.
