Does anyone have a new Remington SPS stainless in 204 or 223? How is the accuracy? The stock compared to the old ADL stock? Any complaints?

I have one in 243.

I never shot it stock but with the barrel cut to 19" and a sound moderator on it it shoots less than half an inch all day with handloads.

I didn't like the rough finish so had it reblasted to a finer matte finish. I also never used the factory trigger fitting a Jewell. I replaced the stock with a Mcmillan after a while but the accuracy was there with the factory stock.

The barrel does not copper foul at all.

I got one in a 22/250 (blue barrel) and a 270 with ss barrel,both will shoot one hole groups at 100 yds on a good day.I worked up a load for the 22/250 but the first time at the range with the 270 a fellow gave me some fusion bullets to try,I shot a 3-shot group and all three were in the same hole.Haven't had time to work up a load I want to shoot in it yet.Probably won't hunt with it this year anyhow.

I've got one in 30-06 that shoots one holes all day long with the right handload. Fortunatly for me I found the "right handload" the first time out and never thought of changing it.

Owned an SPS in 7mm08 for a short while (12 hours). As mentioned above, the finish was a little rough but that was the good news. The crown was visibly damaged (could not see at time of purchase because of muzzle blast), the chamber had about 3 thou runout on fired cases, and the stock forearm put uneven side thrust on barrel. Not much quality here. The gun grouped about 1.25 in. at 100 with Rem factory ammo. A friend took if off my hands for $100 less than I paid. I just did not want to fool around sending it back to Remington and waiting 6 weeks for the re-crown, etc.

I just bought one in .223(blued) and with pmc 50 gr. blitz kings it put 5 in 1/2" group the first time out! I haven't tried any other ammo yet but it looks like I won't have to load for this rifle. I also like the 24" barrel and the sps stock has a good feel to it. I bought the rifle to just have something cheaper to shoot with and do a little varmit hunting with but I have to admit I wasn't expecting that kind of accuracy.

fortunatly!?! i thought that would be unfortunate. what about all the tinkering? reasons to do more shooting on the range with it? its more satisfying when you have worked for the load thaT works!

I am preparing to do some experimenting. I have loads for my rem sps in 7mm 08 a 700 bdl in 22-250 that shoot really well. I am gonna try different prep work to see what the differences in accuracy are. Weight sort, uniform flash holes, primer pockets and neck turning. I want to do one step at a time and see if groups will consistently get smaller.
