<George Capriola>Question for Todd Kindler
Todd,
Due largely to your magazine, I've become very interested in the .19 Calhoon conversion kit for my Ruger 77/22VHZ. I'm getting ready to "pull the trigger" on this project next month, and I was wondering if you had any experience with this conversion, the quality of the components, how I could expect the rifle to shoot, etc. Thanks for your input.
Regards, George.

<Todd A Kindler>George,
Years ago I tested the very first converted Ruger 77/22 Hornet which was covertd to 17 Ackley Hornet. I have also tested one in 22 K-Hornet. Both were done by Mr. Wessinger at Wessinger Custom Guns in Chapin, SC. (803)345-5677 They both shot very well. I can't see why the 19 Calhoon would not shoot as well. We are now putting together a 20 Ackley Hornet which should really move those super Hornady 33 grain V-Max bullets!
Hope this helps and thanks for subscribing to Small Caliber News.
