Jamt6.5x58 Portuguese
After having read this nice article (see link below) by Finn Aagaard I now will know more about the old 6.5x58 Portuguese. I've been searching on the net for information but it's hard to find anything!
Perhaps anyone can tell me more about the 6.5 Portuguese? How common was it in Africa? Who used it? Which rifles was it used in? How was the performance?...

waxmanThe 6.5 x58 pushed a 155gr. bullet at 2347 fps. The book Mauser Bolt Rifles by Ludwig Olsen has some information on both the rifle and cartridge. I had a 04/39 model that was arsenal converted to 8 mm. but still had all the original markings.

JamtThanks for the answers. It seems like the 6.5x58 is a rare one.
Do anyone know if any of the old elephant hunters used the 6.5x58 Portuguese?
