Yes I do Mike. I like that because the fireformed case is centered in the chamber even more than regular neck sized cas. This also works better than using a regular sizing die and backing it off 1/8th of a turn. I think it helps extend case reloading life too because there's not a lot more stretch down at the web area where the "Incipient Head Separation" thing can happen. Godsdog.

On some of these cases the collet leaves a small "Unsized/Fireformed" gap between the sized portion of the neck and the shoulder which I feel helps keep the case centered in the chamber whick in turn, helps my accuracy a little. I also use my 223 Rem Collet die to size my 222 Rem Brass and it does the same thing with the 222 case. Godsdog.

Godsdog, you get this unsized portion on the neck on cases which are shorter than the (nominal) cartridge the die is manufactured for? I.e. when you size a .222 case in a .223 die, part of the neck remains unsized?

I sent Lee the required money for a custom collet die for my .223 Rem AI. They sent me a standard .223 Rem die and the difference in price, saying that a custom die wasn't needed to just resize the neck. They were right; it works fine. I gained a lot of respect for the Lee folks from this experience.
