Ive been looking for a 25-06 with a 26" barrel and so far Ruger is the only one i have found that makes one. Anyone know of any others I could look at? Thanks

Try this.

They are a little heavy to pack, but they sure shoot well.

The T/C Encore comes with a 26 inch tube and the Prohunter version comes with a 28 inch fluted barrel. My Pro Hunter shoots a bit better than my Ruger bolt gun or my old Remmy 700. and is lighter to carry.

Shotgun that pro hunter looks loke a nice gun. What about reloading for a single shot? Can you neck size like you can for a bolt action or do you have to FL resize every time?

Somehow only one word showed up on that last post so I will try again.

Yes I only neck size for the Encore..actually use the same procedure I use for the bolt guns,I neck size for all guns for accuracy testing and for shooting iddy biddy groups at the range. However I have gotten in the habit of full length sizing all dedicated hunting loads..just to ensure positive function. Just an old habit that works for me. In the Encore I can also seat the bullet out a good bit farther than the bolt guns due to magazine length restrictions. The Encore will out run both my bolt guns. The new pro hunter stock is the best synthetic stock I have used and really tames the recoil. I have shot T/C's for over 30 years, mostly contenders and have had much success with them. This is my first Encore rifle and has become one of my favorites.

you could always just rebarrel a factory rifle if you really wanted the extra 2"
