Anybody have any experience with the Hawkeye Compaact? I took my wife to the gunshop yesterday, and it was the one rifle she showed any interest in. Wondering about muzzle blast out of the short barrel, along with recoil. Thinking .260 or 7/08. Any first hand information would be appreciated.

Drop Graybird a PM. I hunted deer with him last year and he shoots the Laminate Compact in 7mm-08. I wasn't with him when he got his deer so I can't answer any of your questions. I got to handle the rifle and it was light and pointed easily.

My wife has been shooting one in .308 for about ~ 7 years and she loves it. She has hunted whitetails, pigs and african game with it and it is very accurate. She has never complained about the report.
