tom ga hunterCarolina Precision 250AI
Last week LJS sent me an email that there was another 250AI available on the internet. I bought it as it is the 2nd in a series of 250ai's built by Carolina Precision for a customer in Texas.
It is built on a Remington 700ADL action, with a 22" 1:10 bull barrel by PacNor and a McMillian Sako Varmit Hunter style stock. I mounted a 1991 Leupold VXII 3x9x50 scope & it weighs 91/4 pounds. I don't know what I'll use it for but I plan to form cases & start serious load development next week. I hope this will be a steady 1 hole rifle.

tom ga hunterTook the AI to the range this morning, after sighting the rifle in I shot a 1" group with 117 hornady bt's & this 3/4" with 117 Sierra flat bases. 42.0gr of IMR4350 yields just over 2,800 fps.

AtkinsonIt is P.O. Ackleys best of the best showing up to 300 FPS Imp. over the 250-3000..
I'm a big 250-3000 fan as I cut my teeth on it hunting elk and deer as a very young boy and it worked well..
I have often considered having one of my 99s improved, but I have more than a few rifles and the mild report and recoil of the std. 250-3000 is so nice, and field results on big game has been so good that I have never gotten around to it, but someday????
