pmc 223 brass; primer crimped?
A friend has asked me to load up some 223 for his AR15. He's bringing over 300 pieces of PMC brass and I'm not sure if it's primer is crimped or not. If so, I'll need to buy a Dillon Super Swager.

Not necesarily(sp)! If you own an RCBS CASE PREP CENTER, just buy the attachment(you've probably got an empty spot for the tool) "military primer crimp remover" tool and use it!If you don't have the RCBS Case prep Center, then get one!! Most time saving addition to a reloading room ever invented!! And I don't work for RCBS!! Just another one of the reloading/rifle junkies who frequent here! Charlie (GHD)

I have both the RCBS Case Prep Center, and the Dillon 600 Super Swage. I would go ahead and get the Dillon 600. It works much faster, and more uniformily than trying to cut the crimp out with the RCBS unit. I tried that with over 2,000 .223 cases I was going to load up. My fingers couldn't take anymore after just 100 cases, and it was taking forever, so it was off to Dillon I drove. I learned a long time ago it doesn't pay to try and economize on loading tools. The Dillon is now close to $100.00, which isn't cheap by any stretch, but once you buy it you'll be really glad you did. I ran all 2,300 cases through it in no time, and the primers seated with beautiful uniformity. I processed all of them, even the ones that did not have a crimp. Bill T.

Much, if not most PMC brass is crimped in my experience.

I use the RCBS swage die, which works nicely.

I certainly agree with this.....I used one once but didn't buy one.....and it's a very fine and useful tool.
