Try CZ. I think they are still chambering 222Rem.

I know this is not what you asked for, but I'll let you in on a (fairly public and well known) "secret" anyway....

You want a .222 Rem rifle?? Start shopping for a good Sako L461 (or A1) "Vixen" thus chambered. No, it will not be a new rifle, and, no, it will not be cheap, even on the second hand market. But, oh, are those Sakos sweet! I severely doubt any rifle currently built in .222 can match them for the price they are sold at.

If you absolutely have to have a new rifle, a Cooper might be worth looking into. They are normally nice shooting rifles, although not as classy as the Sakos.

Cabela's has a few of those Sakos listed on their Gun Library webpage - e.g.

http://www.cabelas.com/product...av%26WTz_stype%3DGNP

Prices may be a bit inflated at Cabela's, though. These rifles are not that hard to find, although they probably don't come cheaply anywhere these days. There are several options (varmint or sporter, target or normal trigger, single shot or repeater) to choose from. Some models sell at higher prices than others.

Tikka T3 in at least the Blued / Walnut Hunter model.

Although this MAY be a special run just for Aust / NZ so may not be available in the rest of the world.

Also, look for a used Rem 788.

This rifle is also still available in the 40X series as well, I believe.

And yes, I know about the rant over the 700 trigger...

Call Dale Nygaard and have him track down a good Anschutz in Germany. Have never seen one that wasn't a tack driver.

The European manufacturers all still make 222rem.

However, it is really only Sako and CZ who make them in the correct action size.

Mike advice on the Vixen is spot on. However, you should be able to find a 222 in a Sako 75 without much bother, Ok, they are not vixens, but they are really nice rifles compared to most other offerings.

All the rifles mentioned throughout this thread are excellent, but one stands out among all the others.
The Blaser R93 is simply an outstanding example of craftsmanship and versatility. I have 8 barrels with my R93 professional and am extremely pleased with the performance of each one.

First Stop Gun in Rapid City SD has a really beautiful Dakota Predator in .222 on the shelf. It'll do .3" groups for sure if you can cough up the $2k price.
I've got one in 6br and don't consider them overpriced.
