Does the bolt close hard when chambering live ammunition or when closing on an empty chamber?

Hi Juan,
Having a little problem understanding.
1) You say the bolt is hard to close. Look at the shoulder of the round after it has been chambered, does it look different from a new round?
2)What kind of bullet is a KS point? Are you saying that it shoots well with this type of bullet or are you saying that it has troubles chambering a round with anything else?
3) What does reodas mean?
4)Do you know the person that rebarreled the weapon? Are they competent?

Are you feeding the cartridges from the magazine? Are the loads that are hard to close the bolt on reloads?

Sounds to me that the brass is stretching...

I'd trim the brass and see how it chambers then...

Measure it to begin with and see how it compares to the length of a new case...

I know , as I have been there and done that....

Che Juan,
So what is a "ks" point? I have hunted in Cordoba some years past. Great bird shooting and some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Germans.

Juan:

Do you reload your own ammo??

IF so, set the dies a tiny bit tighter and try it. Make sure the chamber is clean first.

Might try painting a cartridge with a black felt tip marker before chambering it. That'll show you any tight spots.

IF it's tight closing when empty and the action is very clean. Better have a good gunsmith check it over before shooting. Might be something wrong in there that could cost you an eye. Sure not worth that.

Good luck,

George
