gumboot4586.5 Creedmor Ruger 77 VT 1in8
I see they have them listed but not in stock @ Gallery of Guns ............
Fur rifles are me ...Hopefully they become a reality ......
It appears I will be able to get a perfect rifle with out having to fix it before I hunt with it ....

seafire2That looked attractive to me...
but then since I already have a 260 VLS Rem.. I would only be duplicating what I already have...
If I think I need it that bad, I can always just order me another barrel for one of my Ruger Varmint Rigs...

6.5BRSeafire, if you ever get down my way with that VLS, I'd like to dust off my new Sako 75 SS/Fluted varmint 260 and have a shootout!
I missed the Creedmoor, wonder if it is a Davidson exclusive? Did talk with Hornady folks at length...stand by their brass, but an experienced 6.5x47 Lapua said Hornady brass has always been way too soft.....primer pockets may or may not stay tight after several loadings.
Do agree, it is a nice option to have...if Sako would just give me a 6BR in varmint and a 6.5x47 Lapua in a Finnlight, I'd be a

camper!

seafire26.5BR:
Savage is chambering the 6 BR in several platforms right now..
Between that and the 6.5 Creedmoor via Ruger here, I have to admit, I'd love to have one of each... I just have to figure out what to give up...trying to keep the number of stuff in the gun safe down....
I'd like nothing better than to be able to spend my time wearing out a bunch of barrels in platforms like that...
I'd like to get together.. you are in Georgia right? My brother lives in Atlanta.. and works for the CDC.. but it has been 5 or 6 years since I have been back on the east coast....
I wouldn't really be interested in a shoot out tho.. I am a good shot, but always accept that I will end up in last place in a 2 man shoot out.... never fails...
It is not I get bad luck, I just seem to bring the other guy good luck...

As far as Hornady Brass... well it isn't Lapua, but if someone holds the velocity and pressure down on anything, the brass life increases dramatically...
I am also learning that a Lee Collet Die and a Redding Body Die, and a little occasional annealing can sure stretch out brass life immensely.. as long as you don't try to push the loads to rocket velocities....
doing a 'experiment' right now on stretching out brass life...
using the 22.250 and the 223... I have ran both cases out to 25 reloadings so far..
it has involved batches of 10 cases per 'lot'...
I was running 6 batches of each... I've slowed down right now, because of the shortage of bullets...I've got an order in for 2500 bullets thru Mid South that is like 6 weeks old and overdue right now...don't want an empty shelf come varmint season.....
If you have an interest in that 6.5 Creedmoor, I'd jump on it...
I regret not getting their 6mm and 22 PPCs when they chambered them... and the 260 VLS I have, they didn't sell those very long.. I got mine because someone ordered the wrong thing, and I was there at the time.. so I got it.. with him taking an instant $100.00 loss on it...I ended up with another barrel from one of the local gunshops... the owner bought it on sale, as they weren't moving and so he got it for the action to make a 6 PPC out of it... I got the new unfired barrel for like $75.00....so I have a spare barrel for mine also..

6.5BRNot jumping on a Creedmoor right now, but expect with an 8 twist, the Rugers will be shooters. I keep it simple and use plain 2 die Redding, partial size and they have loaded ammo a good bit under 1/2moa with good brass life in my BRs.
I hear you, need more time, and money, maybe even Cowbell

Seafire, stop in Lousiana on the way down if your driving. That's where I will be.

ScottWell crap. I was planning on building one off of a FN/winchester action and putting it in a nice laminate stock. But if there will be a factory rifle, I might be better off (cheaper) to just wait for one. It would go nicely with my 260VLS. Heck might still build the FN/winchester into a 6.5x47 Lapua to complete the redundency hehe.
