Hey Dr. B, I'd suspect you didn't get any responses simply because no one has any "experience" with either of those bullets in the 223WSSM.

Your best bet might be to email the folks that make those bullets and see what they recommend for you.

Best of luck to you.

Although I don't use those bullets in my .223 WSSM, if you drop me a PM I'll be glad to help out with what load information I can. Lawdog

Does anyone have any idea why there seams to be little published load Data. I have never shot the 223 WSSM is there a reason for it's lack of popularity. Everything I have seen says it's faster with better accuracy than the 220 swift and the 22-250.

Probably because it is relatively new.

It takes awhile for the Bullet and Powder Manufacturers to get the new Test Barrels and SAAMI Certification Loads. Then once they have them, they have to go try many different combinations to see what works well together. Once they have confidence in the data, they need to get it in a Manual or posted on their Web Sites and that also takes time.

Meanwhile Winchester is hoping folks will just spend the money for Factory Ammo. Eventually there will be lots of data for you, but it just takes awhile for them to get it all in place.

Best of luck to you.

Dr B, Try contacting Barnes via phone. They should have the information to get you started and some advice on seating depths.

I just had a look at a couple of on line reloading pages. Imr and Hodgdon and the loads shown with the same powders in the same bullet weights show the .223 WSSM to be on par with the .220 swift loads bullet weights and powder types being equal. Both do not list the bullets you want to use which sucks. The listed barrel lengths do differ with the 223 WSSM being 24" and the .220 swift being 26" if you have a 26" barrel you should be able to do better. Last weekend I got to check the speed on my reloads. Using a max charge of H414 in my swift and it averaged 220 fps faster than Hodgdon shows on the load page. I got a funny feeling you will be able to do better than listed speeds which is a good thing.
