pacecarsFN Supreme .264 Win Mag
I have just ordered an FN Supreme .264 Win Mag and I don't know a whole lot about them. According to the dealer I am getting it from it does not say Browning on it anywhere. It has a stepped barrel like a Safari grade, floorplate release in the trigger guard, engraved floorplate like the Safari, side safety and a monte carlo stock. It sure looks like a Safari grade and I have not seen an FN with these features.

StonecreekI assume that you are talking about a used rifle, as I don't know of FN currently offering a sporting rifle.
The old FN bolts and Browning Safaris were essentially the same gun.

butchloci had one once Shot the barrel out in only about 800 rds. Problem was a combination of a too soft barrel and a to young reloarder who used to much powder

great longrange rifle though

Thomas JonesShould be a great one !
Also probably quite rare. I might recomend
sticking with the hevier weight bullets, your barrel will last longer. The .264 win mag works best with a 26 inch barrel, but will work well enough with a 24.
The floorplate release inside the trigger guard is a good thing. The push botton near the floor plate gadgit is a pain. I don't use mine.
Just load and unload through the top.
My old FN .270 is simply excelent. By all means post about your results...tj3006

jstevensIt would be a good rifle to rebore to .338 for sure if nothing else. I never was a big .264 fan, but it will certainly kill game and is probably as good a mulie and antelope cartridge as anything.

Blair D CalvinIt's a bloody great kangaroo rifle at long to very long range.
I have a REM 700 with a custom Tobler barrel, HS Stock and bottom metal, Jewell trigger and a Nightforce NXS. It smokes them

Greatly under rated cartridge, hard hitting and soft recoil.
The 'roos hate it though!!

Dr. DucAt the risk of being thought a "Snake Oil" salesman, I treated my 264 with Microlon Gun Juice when it was almost new. I has no measureable wear (or visible on borescope) after not quite a thousand rounds.
Gun Tests said it was the only "Snake Oil" they had ever tested that did what it said it did.
