Has anyone had any experience loading this catridge? I am intending on using it in place of a whisper as a subsonic round with up to 185s. Others difficult to get. Am wondering if the resulting powder space will cause me problems?

Any ideas?

Dave,
I reload this for SKS and Ranch Rifle using 123gr bullets. The powder charge using appropriate powders are about 26grs. My recollection is that you could get maybe 30 grs in the case. I suspect the problem will be rifling twist unless you order a special barrel. Ku-dude

Thanks. Can you tell me what powders you use and if you are using .311 or .308 projectiles? I have a .308 1in10" barrel and have had the reamer modified. Using a single shot target action with a sako type extractor. Thought it would be fun as factory ammo is cheap but it is now turning into a full blown projest. Intend to use the 185 Lapua with a suppressor and need loading ideas.

I just did a 7.62x39 with a pac-nor barrel in 30 cal with a 1/18 twist. I use bib 125 gr bullets and the smallest group is in the low 3's. I think the 185 gr bullet is alittle too heavy and you may not get the velocity up there. I've got some 118gr bullets also and they shoot real good. I haven't had a chance to check the velocity yet but will do it the next time I shoot it. I'm using AA2200 powder. Well good luck!
