Dennis Spender.223 assault type rifles
I am interested in purchasing a .223 assault type rifle such as the Remington AR15. Would like suggestions what you believe are the better rifles, manufacturers, etc. I intend to mostly shoot paper and some prarie dogs or coyotes with my son in Colorado. Thanks

Cliff LyleDennis, I built up a varmint rig using a Rock River lower and recently bought another lower to have for a future project.
I believe the Remington AR15 is made for them by, I think, DPMS. I don't know anyone who has purchased one but the review I read by a writer wasn't a glowing report. Don't let that alter your judgement but look around at the other manufacturers, such as Rock River & Stag. You may see a finished gun that is exactly how you want it. Stag even makes a LH model.
:::editorial:::By the way, it's not an assault type rifle, merely a semi-auto. Don't allow the gun ignorant media to convince you it's somthing its not.

Doc224/375Personally you couldn't give me another Colt as I own two and that's two to many !.
Les Baer would be a top choice .
http://www.proguns.com/lesbaer...tultsupervarmint.asp I've tried most all of them and I'll stick with these for out of the box accuracy .
http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_main_index.aspRock River , DPMS makes decent ones .
We NO LONGER refer too them as Assault Rifles either !. These are BLACK RIFLES !!!.
If we start using the Jargon that the Media uses , we surely shall be made to turn them in !.
So " PLEASE " only refer too them as either AR15's or BLACK RIFLES !. I figure if we call them what they
are BLACK Rifles Obama wouldn't dare ban them !!!.

390ishif you are hunting, i would go with a wilson. if you are worried about zombies, get a saber defense, noeveske or lewis machine and tool. the latter will shoot just as well as a varmit rig wilson, but are kind of expensive. the expense with these rifles comes with quality control. the latter have crazy quality control.
if accuracy is your main criteria, these guys are about the final word:
