1894,

don't let your K95 in 6,5 know you're even thinking of a Ruger#1 in 20-06 or she'll quit shooting one hole groups!

Take two aspirins and relax for a while 6,5 will do anything the 25 can and bit more.

Gents,

The ruger #1 itis is getting the better of me. The one available is in 25-06. Now generaly I've stayed clear of the -06 line due to sensitive ears etc but I'm wondering if it might not be worth a try.

The deer I shoot are very well catered for by a 90gr 6mm (BC 0.36) which I can run at about 3225fps with 45.5gr of powder. What can I run a 100gr 257cal bullet at out of a 26" barrel, how much powder will it take and will it do anything better?

Oh and my 6.5x57R manages 3,300fps with 100gr and a 26" barrel....

My dad and I are currently shooting a load of 54 grains of IMR 4831 behind the Nosler 100 grain Partition in our 25-06 rifles. My dad's Weatherby Ultralight averages just under 3400 fps while my custom built rifle with a Lilja barrel goes just a little over 3400 fps.

Hope this helps, R F
