JCS271Win model 64 25-35 Value?
Buddy of mine has one of these that was purchased new by a relative in 1943/44? Serial # is 133XXX which shows 1943 to 1948.
He wants to sell it but is not a "gun guy" and I don't know enough to advise him on value. It is in good condition with no rust, good wood and has a williams peep on it.
Anybody have a rough idea of value?
We looked on Gunbroker and Guns Inter. with no real luck, any help would be appreciated.

JCS271Thanks, it is very clean with the only mod being the williams peep. I have been doing a little more research and it looks like there is a premium for the 25-35 caliber.
Bottom line is it is only going to be worth what he can get somebody to pay him for it but I am thinking $700+.
JCS, the 28th edition Blue Book lists a Model 64 in 95% at $700, but with a 200% premium for 25-35, and 300% premium for .219 Zipper. As you probably know, NRA 95% looks to the casual observer like a NIB gun...much more critical than the % condition commonly used on the web when selling firearms. I also find that the "Blue Book" understates the actual resale value by 10-20%.
