i saw a CZ 22LR today in a gun store for $199. Also, there was a 22WMR for $340. i am familiar with these rifles in the larger calibers, however, i have heard nothing concerning the rimfires. what's the scoop on the quality of these rifles (in the rimfire calibers) and are these prices good? both rifles were the "Lux" configuration and both are new.

The CZ 452 would be by far the best selling sporting rimfire rifle in Europe and UK. Value for money, functional dependability they are the "tops" over here.
Why you should have seen such a price differential beats me. I would have expected 25% difference between 22lr and 22wmr.

Brno now cz rimfires have been the favourite of Aussie shooters for as long as I can re-call. There accuracy is renown. I have model 2 Brno and it is a tack driver no B.S.

I too have a CZ425, 22LR. I love it. You'll have it as long as you live.
There are only two thing that i've modified on mine;
The trigger pull, and I have removed some on the bolt-handle. This so I can mount the scope as far forward as I want. Easy modifications though.

CZ or BRNO is the best known 22LR rifle in Norway.
It is probably the most sold and the best value for you money.

There are several models of the 452. Specials are about the price you saw. Americans (the good looking one!) are closer to $300 and the Lux is slightly higher yet. I have a scout ($150) and the Varmint ($295) and just love them. I want an American with a nice piece of wood next! I bet I've read 50 accounts on-line of people who bought 452's and don't recall anyone who was disappointed.

Seven (or anyone else).........I'm interested in where you purchased these rifles. the dealer i was visiting in Tulsa had a "varmint" version and he said it was a lot closer to $400. i am very impressed with these rifles both rimfire and centerfire and i want to get a couple more. i'd sure like to find a reasonable source. my local guy has the 550 Americans for around $520. does your source beat this by much or is that about where the price falls? any help would be most appreciated. thanks again....
