suntiet223 Ackley Improved in an AR-15?
I was thinking about improving my new upper and was wondering if anyone has had experiance with this? Especially feeding and reliability. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some info on this?

butchlocall it takes is a reamer job. the mags. etc. are still the same. the fun thing about it is going to be finding your brass afterwards.

Lowrider 49Interesting point about the brass. Is this due to higher volume of gas or higher pressure? Would an adjustable gas block fix the problem?
I ran a AI reamer into my NEF 223 and I saw 100 fps increase which is roughly 3% or so with the 55 grain loads...not worth it in my mind.
I put a 1:8 twist bull barrel on an A4 upper and I'm thinking the AI may give a little better showing with heavier bullets. Maybe some dark winter night I'll give it a try.
Suntiet,

Dog-dusterThe fellow who did my Tac .20 AR does .223AI as well I'd imagine he would be glad to answer questions you have. I bought a reamer to have my CZ 527 cut for AI but I am pretty sure I'll have another Tac.20 cut now.
The website for my AR smith is
