What action to build a 6mmbr
Hi all

My better half wants a new varmint rifle so we looked around and she decided on a 6mmbr. Does anyone know what rifle I can harvest a action from? I was thinking a .243 but im not sure.

Anything with a .473 boltface will work single shot. That includes the .308 and 30-06 families as well as any of the x57 mausers. If you want it to feed from the mag some actions are better.

d-r,

A short-action Remington Model 700 in L/H from one of their .243's or .308's would make an ideal donor action for what you're considering. Not too common but with a little patience one will turn up.

Have Fun!

A short action 700 would be ideal.

Sometimes you can find a Remington Model 722 which is a short action that should be ideal for the conversion.

It's hard to go wrong with a Rem 700 action

Same hole I think!

Get a Blaser R93 or R8, then when she grows tired of the cartridge, it's an easy switch.
