decisions decisions
ive decided im going to buy a howa barreled action or build a rifle off of a savage action. just trying to decide between .223, .243, .308 or possibly .375 H&H if i get a savage. i dont get a rifle to meet my hunting requirements. i hunt different things to buy new calibers.

if at first you dont succeed. blow it up.

Do you have a specific game that you will be hunting with the rifle? Like, Deer, bear, Elk?
That's a big stretch going from 223 to 375 Mag?

well the .375 would be for woodchucks and chipmunks. ill choose the rifle first and the game later. maybe the .375 for bear too.

I remember when I thought bigger was better. Then I grew up and learned differently. I'm building a 6.5x55 for my middle son. Great cartridge for hunting just about anything.

ok got a new development going on here. i bought a stevens model 200 that had a badly pitted barrel for 100 bucks. the barrel is now gone. im going to get a barrel around 20-22 inches long and as heavy as possible for it. im going to modify it to take my ar 10 mags that i forgot to sell with my .308 gun will be either a .243 or a 7mm-08. ill be using a bell and carlson stock or maybe a custom laminate one.

I've been using mine for red squirrels, it sure saves time cleanin' em.

We unfortunately will vote our way into socialism.
The end result will be having to shoot our way out of it.
