Rob,

I re-reading my post, I think I may have give the
wrong impression. I use 85 gr Nosler Ballsitic tips
for varmints. I DO NOT use ballistic tips for big
game. I use Barnes TSX bullets now. I use to use
Barnes XLC bullets, with acceptable hunting accuracy.
But the new TSX bullets have just plain exceptional
accuracy, with very good bullet expansion, weight
retention, and penetration.

Rob,

I am EXTREMELY happy with the accuracy, and performance
of the 100 gr Barnes TSX bullet, in my .25-06 Rem.
chambered Tikka. For long range varmints, I use 85 gr
Nosler Ballistic tips, but for big game(northern
whitetails), it is almost too much bullet, when one sees
the damage under the hide. I will be going west in a
couple of years, for antelope, and elk. For antelope,
the .25-06 firing 100 gr TSX bullets, will be the primary
gun, and for elk, it will be my back up to my 300 WSM.
How is that for confidence in a bullet's performance.

Try the Winchester 120gr Precision Point. They perform well and have shot well in various rifles that I have sighted in.
