He's going to be really pissed when he wakes up and finds out you skinned him. You better be careful Lorenzo. Wink

Seriously, nice pig. I plan on using my puny 6.5x55 on some hogs this year. I have some 155 Megas loaded up for them. Hopefully they won't bounce off the grizzle plate.

Its all about the shot placement, and the bullet. Not the caliber.

Looks like you done a fine job, shooting and skinning. Also looks like some fine eating.

i'm quite sure the bullet didn't kill that pig. maybe the noise gave him a heart attack.

Nice pig! You really should have used a .270, .30-06, or wizz bang ssm though. horse
Glad to see you don't feel the need for a bigger stick. We have some European boar on the other side of my State. I'll be using 1 of my 6.5x55's on them this year.

Lorenzo, you should be ashamed of making that poor pig suffer. Surely it was the field dressing and skinning that killed the noble beast, not the lowly 6.5x55.

Great story and pictures, good looking porker. tu2 tu2 beer beer

This is terrific !! Looks like I've hit the 6.5x55 honey-hole. FYI...my new favorite load for my Swede is the newest 130gr Barnes TSX in Lapua brass with Fed210s and a healthy dose of RL22. Chronys at 2835. 3 shot, 3/8" groups by anyone who picks it up. My other weapons are for sale...well except the .45s

Thousands of pigs get shot here in Aust with the 6.5 x 55 due to the thousands of surplus guns sold here and cheap ammo.

Anyway, good stuff.

We know, in some countries of Europe is the same. I post this just as a joke because there has been some discussion lately about the 6,5x55 not being goog enough for pigs and deers...

I figured your post was a bit tongue in cheek.

Considering how many pigs are shot with the .223,
then it makes you wonder why people consider the 6.5
not up to it.

A RUMOR that you killed a pig with a 6.5x55.(can tell from the pic that was atleast a .300 mag wound) What next, a deer with a .223? We all know that can't be done. Shot placement? Nah that doesn't matter you gotta use a big gun.

I picked up two cz 550's one in 6.5x55 the other in 9.3x62. They overlap so much I gave my 30/06 to my brother in law. I hadn't shot it in 2 years.
Love these two rifles.
